Commander Norvell’s Letter

2018 Archives

Greetings Fellow Legionnaires

My name is Greg Norvell, and I have been elected as your new Commander!

I served in the United States Navy from 1987 to my retirement in 2009, serving as a Hospital Corpsman with the United States Marine Corps and two Navy P-3 Orion  Squadrons, serving in Iraq (lovely vacation spot I might add) and various Naval and Marine Corps bases.

I have been a Legionnaire for 10 years now, having joined when I was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Brunswick Maine. I was a member of Emerson and Lane Post 132 where I served as Chaplain from April 2010 to April 2013. I then was made Adjutant where I served from May 2011 to July 2014, when I moved to Day Heights and transferred to Post 450.

I am excited about the future of the Post and hope I will see you at our monthly meetings, first Wednesday of the Month at 1900 (7:00 PM). I would like to field ideas for what the membership would like to see in the future, from fund raising to membership to modernization to, well you get the point.

I do look forward to meeting all of you at our meeting!

Yours to Commandership,

Greg Norvell
