“For God and Country”, is not just our motto but also our commitment. As veterans we all have proven, and continue to prove, our commitment to our country, but what about the “God of our fathers”? As Chaplain, I am always reminded that “God” has several names with various religious sects each containing different traditions and dogmas. No matter the method of worship, let’s be thankful for each day, pray for the men and women who serve this country, for the safe return of our POWs, information on our MIAs, and the safety of this great nation.
I pray that with “Gods” help, we shall continue our work to support the needy, the injured and infirmed, the young men and women of our community, returning veterans and the other programs of The American Legion.
Let us all remember, we are too blessed to be stressed.
